Our difference
Built around the person who manages the building
Most of the people who choose us are facilities and building managers. The lift is one line on a long list, and the responsibility for it is theirs. Our job is to make it the line they never have to think about.
Independent, so we are not selling you our own lift
One of only a handful of independent lift companies in Scotland. We maintain and repair whatever is already in your building, whoever made it, and we will tell you when a repair beats a replacement.
Your compliance, off your desk
If you manage a building with lifts, the LOLER duty is legally yours. We keep the examinations on schedule so a lapsed certificate is never the thing you have to explain. And we will say plainly when an inspection should be done by someone other than us, so the opinion stays unbiased.
95% fixed on the first visit
Our engineers carry the parts and the experience to finish the job they came out for. Fewer return visits, less time with a lift out of service.
Common questions
Lift problems? We can help.
If your question is not here, ring us. You will get an engineer, not a call centre.
0141 774 0786How often does a lift need a LOLER examination?
Every six months for lifts carrying people, and once a year for goods-only lifts. The duty to make sure it happens at those statutory intervals sits with the lift owner or site manager, not with the engineer.
Should my maintenance provider do my LOLER inspection?
We would say no, and so does the guidance. It is recommended the examination is not carried out by your maintenance provider, so the opinion stays unbiased. We are happy to carry out LOLER inspections on lifts we do not maintain, and we can arrange third-party inspections for you.
What am I actually responsible for as a lift owner?
If you own a lift, or manage a building with one, you have a duty to make sure it is safe for your staff and the public. PUWER requires the lift to be maintained and kept in safe working order. LOLER requires thorough examination by a competent person at set intervals.
Do you work on lifts you did not install?
Yes. We are independent, so we maintain and repair whatever is already in your building, whoever made it. It also means we will tell you when a repair beats a replacement.
Is a LOLER examination the same as a service?
No. A service keeps the lift running. A thorough examination is a statutory inspection that checks it is safe to keep using. You need both, and they are separate things.
Where do you cover?
We are based in Glasgow and cover the Central Belt, with a breakdown service across the whole of Scotland.
